23rd Annual Komen Detroit Race for the Cure
June 7, 2014 - Chene Park
Less talk. More action.
Our collective promise is to all women, everywhere, to do what we can to end suffering from breast cancer.
See individual, team and monthly incentives.
In 2013, the Friends for the Cure® program accounted for 45% of total Komen Detroit revenue. Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 in 2014. Without this funding, our community could lose lifesaving local programs and research dollars. Up to 75 percent of net funds generated by Komen Detroit Race for the Cure® stays in the local area supporting breast health and breast cancer awareness projects serving Wayne, Oakland and Macomb countries while the remaining income goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs supporting research, awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
There are two ways to participate: online fundraising, which includes your own personal donation page (received when you register online), and manually, by using the paper copy of the Friends for the Cure® form and mailing it in with your donations or turning them in on Race day at the Friends booth.
Manual (offline) donations will be added to your online fundraising total by Komen Detroit staff once received at the office. The level of recognition and rewards will be based on the fundraiser’s total of online and manual (offline) donations received by July 7, 2014. Those donations go towards the 2014 Friends for the Cure® incentives and awards. All awards will be presented at the Friends & Team Celebration in September 2014 and incentives will begin mailing out in August 2014. Any donations received after July 7 will count towards the 2015 incentives.
