Race Day Information


Check back here soon for information on the 26th annual Komen Detroit Race for the Cure taking place in 2017!     Crowd in amp 2014


Online Team Registration: Ends May 3 at midnight.

Online Individual Registration: Ends May 20, 2016 at midnight.

Race day: Registration opens at 7 a.m.  Look for aqua balloons.

Price: On Race day, adults (18-64) are $50 and youths (6-17) and seniors (65+) are $25. Checks, credit cards, cash and money orders are accepted. Click here for a complete list of fees.

Race day: Opens from 7-9 a.m. Look for silver balloons. Once given a Race bib, participant will be directed to t-shirts. Look for orange balloons.

Included in Race packet prior to Race day: A participant t-shirt and Race bib. Survivors also receive a pink survivor t-shirt, a pink hat, pink Race bib and a 2016 commemorative Komen Detroit Race lapel pin. A Race bib must be worn by everyone except volunteers.

Survivor & Memorial Recognition Ceremony, emceed by Lila Lazarus (inside Chene Park Amphitheater)

Competitive 5K Start (women and men)
5K Walk Start (women and men)

10:30 a.m.
Closing Ceremony - runner and team awards, emceed by Local 4's Talent (inside Chene Park Amphitheater)

Race day: Be green and carpool. Arrive early; street closures begin at 7 a.m. Ample parking is available near Chene Park at reasonable rates. Check back soon for additional parking information.

Online: Donations can be made here through July 1 to qualify for 2016 incentives.

Click here for a paper donation form that can be sent into the Komen Detroit office or brought with you on Race day. Please note it takes 5-7 business days to enter the information onto your fundraising page.

Race day: Drop off at the Friends booth (map to be provided soon). Checks, credit cards, cash and money orders are accepted for the tax-deductible donation. Look for green balloons.



Detroit police officers will be on hand for anyone who needs their help. In a serious emergency, call 911. You will also see several ambulances around the site.

For information, look for one of the pink lifeguard chairs in the main area or go to the Information and Lost & Found tent. Look for white balloons.

In addition, Komen Detroit Planning Committee members will be wearing yellow t-shirts and volunteers will be in blue.
